About KFUPM

King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) is a leading educational organization for science and technology. Since that time, the University enrollment has grown to more than 10000 students. Established in  23 September, 1963. In the first graduation ceremony in 1971 only 4 students received their baccalaureate degrees in engineering. From that day the university has been noticed for it's vast growth among the Saudi universities; the university's growth was related to the economic and technological growth in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Furthermore, the university's mission is to:

1. Preparing Professionals.
2. Producing Research.
3. Providing simulating campus for the university students, and staff.

All the previous three points must have ten values; those ten values creates the vision of the university which are:

1. Creativity.
2. Excellence.
3. Integrity.
4. Fairness.
5. Diversity.
6. Responsiveness.
7. Teamwork.
8. Leadership.
9. Discipline.
10. Transparency.

KFUPM location considered to be one of the best locations since it's next to Aramco Company in Dahran in the east side of Saudi Arabia as shown in the map

The university offers many degrees as mentioned in the website "Undergraduate colleges are the College of Applied Engineering, offering degrees in Applied Chemical, Applied Civil, Applied Electrical, and Applied Mechanical Engineering; the College of Engineering Sciences, offering degrees in Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Petroleum Engineering; the College of Sciences, offering degrees in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Geology, Geophysics, Mathematics, Physics, and Statistics; the College of Environmental Design, offering degrees in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, and City Planning; the College of Industrial Management, offering degrees in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Marketing, and Operations Management; the College of Computer Sciences & Engineering, offering degrees in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Systems Engineering; and the College of Applied and Supportive studies that offers services courses in Islamic and Arabic Studies, English and General Studies. The Deanship of Graduate studies awards Master of Science (M.S.) degrees in 24 major fields, namely: Architectural, Chemical, Civil, Computer Science, Computer Networks, Electrical, Mechanical, Petroleum, Telecommunication, and Systems Engineering, as well as in Chemistry, Computer Science, City & Regional Planning, Construction Engineering & Management, Geology, Geophysics, Mathematics, Physics, and Medical Physics. The Deanship of Graduate Studies also awards Master of Engineering (M.Engg) in Civil Engineering, Master of Engineering (M.Engg) in Construction Engineering & Management, Master of Accountancy (M.Acc.), Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.), Executive Master of Business Administration (Executive M.B.A.), Master of Geology, and Master of Geophysics.

Doctoral programs are offered in nine specializations, namely: Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Petroleum, and Systems Engineering, and Computer Science & Engineering, as well as in Chemistry, and Mathematical Sciences." (Organizations-KFUPM,2012)

In my opinion, KFUPM considered one of the most competitive universities were students know their selves and their limits; were the real challenge comes to see if they can cross and go beyond the limits or not.
